Goodbye Charlemagne is the alter ego of failed comedian turned failing musician, Kevin Froleiks. Kevin began releasing original folk songs in 2020 as a way of passing the time during the coronavirus lockdown. Remember that? You had to be there. In 2022, he began experimenting with other genres as an obvious cash grab, releasing what would become the first two Goodbye Charlemagne albums, Homemade Nonsense and I’ll Leave You With This. In 2023 he released 4 albums in 4 different genres ranging from garage rock (The Sensational Debut), to disco (Glitz & Glamour), to synthpop (The British Invasion: Part II), to alternative (We Have Your Son). This project took a lot of time and energy, so in 2024 he phoned it in with Making Minimal Effort. In 2025 Kevin was visited by three ghosts who told him it was his destiny to write a concept album. He had never listened to ghosts before so it made sense to start now. His latest album is a rock opera called I Was A Teenage Ventriloquist Dummy.
